This training, *The Physiology of Anger & Aggression*, provides a deep dive into the biological underpinnings of rage, frustration, and aggressive behaviors. Participants will learn to identify the neurological and physiological processes – including the roles of the autonomic nervous system, HPA axis, key brain regions, and neurotransmitters – that contribute to anger responses. Through exploring topics from evolutionary roots to genetic predispositions, attendees will gain the skills to recognize pre-aggressive physiological signs, understand the impact of anger on physical health (cardiovascular, immune, and beyond), and ultimately, apply this knowledge to inform effective anger management and de-escalation strategies, as well as approaches to supporting recovery after anger episodes. Participants will also learn about measuring physiological arousal and the fascinating role of mirror neurons and empathy in regulating anger.
